SUPPORT VICTIMS OF KELOWNA FIRES; DONATE REUSABLE GOODS AT VALUE VILLAGE

Kelowna, BC (PRWEB) August 26, 2003 --- The Kelowna Value Village is raising funds for local fire victims; for every donation of reusable clothing and household items, the store will donate a dollar directly to the local Red Cross Relief Fund.

Our hearts go out to the families whose homes have been destroyed," says Darren Allaby, manager of the Kelowna Value Village. Our community is suffering and we want to help in any way we can. Publicizing this opportunity to help raise money for their needs is our way of doing that." In addition to aiding those affected by the fires, donations benefit Value Villages nonprofit partner, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Okanagan.

In times like these, the need for community is stronger than ever," says Leanne Hammond Komori, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Okanagan. The public should know that their donations during this time will both benefit those in need of aid due to the fires, as well as help to make a difference in the lives of area children, as we too receive funding for every item donated to Value Village."

Donations of reusable clothing and housewares can be made at the Kelowna Value Village, located at: 190 Aurora Crescent (250) 491-1356.

The Kelowna Value Village will hold this fundraiser and accept donations toward it Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, and from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sundays. The fundraiser runs from August 26 -- September 12. No appointment is necessary to make a donation.

Savers, Inc. operates 200 Savers, Value Village and Village des Valeurs stores in the U.S., Canada and Australia. Its stores employ more than 7,000 people in 25 states, 10 Canadian provinces and Australia.
