Desert Journal releases first e-book

Satans Den Exposed - The David Parker Ray Story

The Desert Journal has released its first e-book, Satan's Den Exposed - The David Parker Ray Story.
Released last Thursday, the book contains 118 magazine size pages (6.75"x9.5") with more than 45 color photographs and numerous color illustrations.

The Desert Journal has produced what I believe is the greatest of its journalistic works ever," said Bill Johnson, editor and publisher of the near-eight-year-old newspaper in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.

"I truly believe our e-book will hit top charts because it is our original works on the notorious and well-publicized David Parker Ray Trail of Sexual Torture case at New Mexico's largest state park, Elephant Butte Lake," he said.

Best yet, Satans Den Exposed contains a couple or few offbeat, yet very relevant and compelling themes and story lines - some never told before and even current - that will shock the readers out of their seats," according to Johnson.

"This book will exceed expectations, even if the reader thinks he knows it all. They don't yet if they haven't read Satan's Den Exposed," Johnson said.

"This book is about deception, betrayal and survival, but no one will forget again about the rape victims' cries for help after they've read this thriller, spanning four and half years of intensive investigation," Johnson said.

Satan's Den Exposed takes readers from the inception when David Ray's case busted wide open in March 1999 all of the way to current discoveries and findings about the case through the summer 2003.
The infamous case involves kidnapping, rape, torture and murder in Southern New Mexico and beyond, becoming known throughout the nation and worldwide.

The book also includes some extras that await readers' attentive eyes. "They won't be able to 'put it down' once they pick it up," said Johnson.

Satan's Den Exposed - The David Parker Ray Story is authored and published by the Desert Journal and edited and illustrated by Johnson. It features the works of the investigative reporting team of Bill Johnson, Fred Mramor and David Pierre.

Theres no question that this e-book will be a great seller, if not a best seller in general and as a steaming hot crime book," Johnson said.

We take the reader through a journey and sometimes a maze of the most bizarre crime stories," Johnson said. We know this is going to be a hit. All of our heart and soul went into this project."

This book accounts for the greatest truths and facts behind the David Parker Ray story covering not only the kingpin of sexual sadists but also his accomplices in crime including his daughter, Jessy Ray, girlfriend, Cindy Hendy, and Toy Boy" Roy Yancy who was convicted of murdering Marie Parker, a young mother of two children, in 1997.

Part of the works in this e-book - or more than half of it - is already a prize winner. The Desert Journals team of Johnson, Mramor and Pierre nabbed first place in the Investigative Reporting category of the New Mexico Press Associations 1999 Better Newspaper Contest, judged that year by the Oklahoma Press Association. The judges said we had excellent coverage as the result of our great team effort," Johnson said.
