National Strength and Conditioning Association Recognizes Elite Strength and Conditioning Professionals.
Innovative Coach Practitioner Distinction Program honors seasoned strength and conditioning coaches responsible for the physical enhancement of individual athletes and athletic teams at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels.
(PRWEB) August 29, 2003 -- The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) understands what it takes to be a great strength and conditioning coach, and wishes to recognize those who contribute to the profession through an innovative Coach Practitioner Distinction Program.
The Coach Practitioner Program is designed to honor seasoned practitioners and educators responsible for the physical enhancement of individual athletes and athletic teams at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels who have made significant contributions to the strength and conditioning profession. It recognizes the achievements and competencies of strength and conditioning specialists via a formalized assessment of their practical/applied employment experience as well as their interest in, and contribution to, the profession of strength and conditioning.
Never before in the strength and conditioning profession has a distinction of this caliber been offered," stated Michael Barnes, NSCA Education Director and former Strength Coach for the San Francisco 49ers. It is only appropriate that the most credible organization in the profession offer this type of recognition to experienced strength coaches."
Once accepted into the program, strength coaches will be recognized by the NSCA as an elite level strength and conditioning professional and will be capable of partnering with aspiring students wishing to join the profession in the NSCAs Student Assistantship Program. Admission is open to all NSCA members who meet the criteria and apply by the biannual deadline of October 1 and March 1.
