Informative Graphics Enables Microsoft® SharePoint Software For Engineering (CAD) Content.

Brava!® For SharePoint Integration Adds CAD Publishing, Viewing And Markup To Microsofts SharePoint Portal Server.

(PRWEB) August 29, 2003 -- Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in web collaboration technology, announced today that its industry-leading Brava!® view and markup software for CAD drawings, images and office documents has been integrated with SharePoint Portal Server (SPS) by Microsoft®.

Brava is used extensively in manufacturing enterprises for sharing access to CAD files inside and outside the firewall via a web browser. Brava also powers most of the worlds construction project collaboration portals because of its scalability, user-friendliness and excellent performance with large user loads.

Organizations with engineering content can now deploy SharePoint enterprise-wide and, even further, to supply partners," said Gary Heath, CEO at Informative Graphics. Since 1990, we have provided technology to help organizations distribute engineering CAD content downstream for non-editable view and markup access. For manufacturing and construction companies, this content is critical to operations, driving down costs and allowing projects to be completed faster. Extending SharePoint as a portal to engineering and product information brings a lot of value to those organizations with more than just office documents to manage."

Brava for SharePoint provides the Brava interface for view and markup functionality, while the Brava and SharePoint servers collaborate to handle markup file, security and workflow management duties. Brava-viewable files are presented through the SPS user interface using thumbnails, and the Brava viewer is launched when files are opened.

The Brava integration provides quick thumbnail overviews for CAD, image and document files that are managed by SharePoint access security. Users with sufficient privileges can view and markup files inside and outside the firewall without needing access to the native CAD design files or program, and even without CAD software expertise. Brava also can be configured to extract SharePoint metadata in order to display ISO 9000 watermark and print banners onscreen. Users can employ SharePoints Discuss tool for collaboration history while simultaneously displaying CAD designs and even markups for reference.

Informative Graphics is offering a free, online trial of Brava for SharePoint for interested companies. Call (800) 378-7005 or visit www.infograph.com.
