Until this year, The United States Submarine Veterans, Inc. (USSVI) and The Submarine Veterans or World War II held separate annual conventions duplicating their efforts and splitting the submarine veterans attendance. These two proud groups will join for the first time at the Reno Nevada Hilton the week of September 1, 2003 for the first joint convention of submarine veterans to honor and celebrate the proud tradition of all submarine veterans.
Among the many social events planned, there will also be individual boat reunions and memorial services throughout the week. Because these men shared harsh living conditions in dangerous waters for months, they are a very close group that stays in touch and remembers their comrades that have passed on to ÂEternal Patrol.Â
Drew Borst, Vice President of Celestial had the following to say: ÂOne can only imagine the stories they tell and the memories they share. The reunion should be amazing to watch and we are honored to be a part of this historic event. We are looking forward to rolling out our customized line at this event so that we can see the first reaction from the members as we introduce their boats merchandise.Â
