MDM Introduces Retail-Friendly Packaging and Patented Card Caddy Storage System.
Leading Handheld Software Publisher Gets Software Out From Behind the Glass to Promote Increased Software Sales.
Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) August 30, 2003 --- Mobile Digital Media (MDM), the largest publisher of AAA branded consumer software for Palm, Windows Mobile and Nokia Series 60 phones on expansion media, today announced that it has launched a new retail-friendly packaging and storage system. The system, standard with all new MDM software, includes a patented card caddy that holds up to six MultiMediaCards (MMC) or SD cards and attaches easily to a briefcase, device carrying case or key ring.
MDM was founded in late 2002 and is the dominant MMC/SD software publisher in the U.S. market.
The new retail packaging is the size of a standard DVD clamshell. Inside the retail package, consumers will find their software in the new 3" X 1.25" inch card caddy, which snaps out for mobile software storage of up to six cards.
All new MDM titles will ship in the new packaging; as MDM fulfills re-orders for current products, the company will move all existing products to the new packaging.
According to Kurt Baumberger, MDM chief marketing officer, MDM designed the new packaging and storage system to meet two distinct retailer and consumer needs in the rapidly growing market of MMC and SD cards for mobile devices.
We worked closely with a consortium of retailers to devise a package that stores could put on racks out from behind the glass that was also easy to protect from theft," said Baumberger. Equally as important, now that the package can be racked, consumers will be able to pick up the box and look at the product specs -- something that we believe will encourage purchase."
For the quickly growing consumer base of mobile device users who have multiple small form-factor MMC/SD cards, MDM has eliminated the fear of losing software with the new card caddy.
Every day more and more consumers come to love and trust the easy plug-and-play format of MMC/SD cards for their mobile devices," added Baumberger. Now they can securely carry all their cards at once wherever they go."
