Stanhope, NJ -- August, 2003 --- The Blueshift Group is proud to announce that another of their previously showcased bands returns to the renowned music venue, The Stanhope House, on September 6, 2003 from 9:30 pm to 1:30 am. This will be the first solo appearance for the East River Blues Band after debuting at the club on January 12, 2003 as part of the Blueshift Showcase. The Showcase had presented four bands from the Tri-State area including Frank Latorre and The King Bees, Hard Bargain, and Lady Blue and The Tramps.

East River Blues Band, comprised of 5 to 6 members, is a band on the move with their depth of sound developed from electric Chicago Blues intertwined with ol school R&B, and flavorings of Louisiana Jazz. Depending on the song selection, one can discern their homage to the roots of Blues conveyed through a finger picking acoustic guitar or a gut-wrenching harmonica.

Smooth multi-layered vocal harmonies, with lead vocals provided primarily by Danny Cumberland, consistently accompany the solid musicianship of Bill Acosta (Bass), Tom Brumley (Harmonica), and Ken Hughes (Guitar), core members of the band. With a new CD in the making, the distinctive rendition of Is You Is, Or Is You Aint My Baby", found on the East River Blues Band 2001 self-titled debut release, continues to be an audience and radio broadcast favorite.

Finalist in the 2002 NY Blues and Jazz Societys regional Battle of the Bands" competition, the East River Blues Band have set their sights on various points beyond their NYC base, including a European Jazz Festival, playing the music that they love and respect.
