JP Mobile Extends the Enterprise Reach of Nokia Series 60 Devices.

First Mobile Solution Provider to Support Series 60 for Securely Accessing Corporate Data.

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) September 2, 2003 -- JP Mobile(TM), a leading provider of enterprise mobility software, today announced that its flagship offering, SureWave(TM) Enterprise Server, now supports the Symbian OS Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Series 60 device platform, in addition to other major device platforms, allowing business users to securely access corporate data with devices such as the Nokia 3650 and Nokia N-Gage smart phones. Utilizing JP Mobiles real-time notification capabilities, business users can also automatically receive new e-mail messages and calendar items on their Series 60 device with no user intervention.

SureWave Enterprise Server (SureWave) is fully integrated with the Series 60 platform and takes advantage of the native Symbian OS e-mail, calendar, tasks and address book applications. People can continue to use the devices familiar applications, without learning new ones, to access their Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Domino corporate e-mail server. SureWave provides exceptional voice and data integration on the Series 60 platform. If a voice call is received during synchronization, the synchronization session will suspend during the voice call and automatically continue when the voice call ends. In addition, loading the SureWave client is a single-click process and can be accomplished over-to-air.

The mobility infrastructure provided by SureWave uses standard Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE) technology and is SyncML-based. Sitting behind the corporate firewall, user data is completely secure at all times and is never exposed to an outside party. In addition, SureWave provides IT management with secure Web-based access for administration, and the primary administrator can now reduce the administrative effort by adding multiple secondary administrative accounts for help desk personnel to access SureWave as well as add, delete or monitor users. Hardware and software inventory is also provided to assist with asset tracking.

Our goal is to allow business users the flexibility to choose the device platform they prefer and still securely access corporate data with SureWave," said Dayakar Puskoor, CEO at JP Mobile. With the Series 60 devices already on the market from Series 60 licensees, such as Samsung, Siemens, and Panasonic, mobile employees can access information such as e-mail messages, appointments, sales data and inventory information from a single integrated device."

JP Mobiles SureWave Enterprise Server support for the Symbian OS-based Nokia Series 60 platform enables mobile business users to synchronize e-mail, contacts, task lists, and calendar entries between corporate e-mail servers and Series 60 phones seamlessly and securely," said Jerry Panagrossi, Vice President, Ecosystem Development, North America, Symbian Ltd. With this latest release, JP Mobile is extending its product portfolio to support a diverse range of Symbian OS-based phones."

"Not all enterprise mobile workers carry the same device - nor would we expect them to. As employee roles and responsibilities change in a company, so do the mobile devices people carry," said Iain Gillott, principal and founder of iGillottResearch, Inc. Series 60 devices from Nokia, Siemens and Samsung are enterprise-class smart phones that business users are finding very attractive. The ability to support a range of popular mobile devices, such as the Nokia 3650, is very important to solutions such as SureWave."

Interested parties can request a demonstration copy of the SureWave client for the Nokia 3650 and access to the JP Mobile demonstration system at www.jpmobile.com/nokia3650.asp.
