NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 01 September 2003 MAN'S BEST FRIEND GETS COOKED" IN MENS HEALTH MAGAZINE

The Pet Pimp" Calls on Men Across America to Demand Apology from Magazine

LOS ANGELES, CA -- television personality and animal protectionist expresses disappointment in Mens Health magazine. In its September 2003 issue, the magazine promoted its article What If I Did That?" with a photo of a poodle in a microwave oven. Such disregard for Man's Best Friend puts into question how much regard they have for their readers.

The magazines attempt at humor is not funny, and the treatment of the dog in this photo is offensive. Pets bring so much love and joy into the lives of millions of people" says Cham Wike, the magazine should be sensitive to the importance of their health and safety". Steve Calechman and Todd Huffman, to promote the health of men rather than running useless shock articles that fill pages at the expense of helpless animals.

Mens Health failed to see the bigger picture, that publishing this type of image as being amusing, serves to promote pets as simply cartoon characters that do not experience pain. Further more, with the problems we encounter from children acting out scenes from television and movies, portraying pets in situations where a person intends to cause them harm, makes pets an easy target since they are unable to effectively defend themselves against abuse.

In addition to being morally objectionable, the photo in Mens Health is an insult to those humans who dedicate their lives to the safety of pets. Cham Wike, the person who has called upon you to demand an apology from the magazine, has devoted his time, efforts and love to such endeavors. After years of volunteering much of his time to animal rescues and contributing to Actors and Others for Animals based in North Hollywood, California, Cham is now reaching out to animals and people alike with his clever and innovative The Pet Pimp", who is Working the Streets to Bring People and Pets Together". PetPimp.com serves to draw much needed attention to the urgency of pet adoptions and the issue of pet over-population.
