New Website Offers Motivational Clothing For People With ADD.

A parent of a child with ADD has come up with a clothing line that aims at boosting self-esteem in people with ADD.

Redwood City, CA -- September, 2003 -- A parent of a child with ADD has come up with a clothing line that aims at boosting self-esteem in people with ADD.

ADD is a controversial learning disability that affects millions of people. Among other symptoms, ADD hinders a persons ability to pay attention, focus on just one task at a time, associate actions to consequences, or correctly identify common social cues for correct response. This makes the person who has ADD the focus of a lot of negative attention from every personal contact they will have, from teachers to parents to friends. As a result they are often the constant butt of jokes, ridicule and mistreatment.

This will play heavily into their self image which can perpetuate who they think they are even if they learn to adapt to their special way of processing infromation and become able to maintain a steady job or a relationship.

I began designing a couple of T-shirts to help my son feel better about himself and feel better about having ADD, which he is going to have for the rest of his life." says Mike Quinn, President of Alpha Delta Delta. Soon I began to notice that these shirts were also like helpful hints for those of us dealing with my son to help remind us that he needs to be interacted with in special, more positive ways than a normal child and people began asking where they could get these shirts.

The shirts became available to the public via a website at the end of August.
