United Nations International Day of Peace Vigil September 21, 2003

A Course In Miracles International is supporting International Day of Peace. September 21, 2003 is the day declared by the United Nations General Assembly, as the United International Day of Peace, a day devoted to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.

September. 2003 -- The United Nations has proposed a tangible goal that will help unite our global community and shift our consciousness. By encouraging twenty-four-hour peace vigils in every house of worship and every place of spiritual practice, by all religious and spiritually based groups and individuals and by all men, women and children who seek peace in the world, the world is joining together to create a humanity's first day of peace.

This global 24-hour Vigil is meant to demonstrate the power of prayer and other spiritual observations in promoting peace and preventing violent conflict. Join us in sharing the vision of International Day of Peace Vigil. All efforts directly support a global consciousness of peace.

A Course In Miracles International is in accord with the goal of International Peace Day. Our Mission is: To advance a vision for all people on earth of our Divine Purpose to be united in peace and love with all humanity in the recognition of our oneness and equality in the sight of God."

The goal of A Course In Miracles is peace. The Course provides and expands a thought system espoused by Jesus in His Sermon on the Mount and demonstrated as divine truth through His Resurrection. It extends beyond any and all religious or political boundaries. This thought system based on a paradigm of singularity was entertained by Socrates, delighted in by the masters of all eastern and western religions and taught, perhaps unknowingly, by quantum physicists in the recognition of the unreality of observed form.

A Course In Miracles International is holding a peace vigil at the Miracles Healing Center in Wisconsin Dells, in the heart of America. We encourage others in our state and worldwide to join us, or alternatively to hold their own peace vigils to mark this event. The United Nations is focusing on the seven countries of greatest conflict: Israel and Palestine, Indonesia, Angola, Bosnia, Colombia, Liberia and Nigeria. Our focus will be on Colombia, where we have an active outreach program and we will be holding a peace vigil at our Healing Center with the support of the Minister of Defense and United Nations officials in Colombia.

God only gives. A universal theology is impossible but a universal experience is not only possible but necessary. No matter your path our purpose is to join and share our light with the world.
