Innovative Welsh company on track for growth with help from KEF
New Welsh software company expand to larger premises and win scholarship funding. Plus summary of company background and aims.
(PRWEB) September 5, 2003 -- A dynamic new business is hoping to light up the Welsh IT industry after receiving backing from Elwas Knowledge Exploitation Fund (KEF) Entrepreneurship scholarship programme.
Recent graduates Adrian Lewis and Polly Nelson established Fire Without Smoke Software (FWOSS) at the end of last year along with friend Thom Leggett who was working in the software industry at the time.
The diverse trio hope to build up a successful business developing state of the art custom software and internet technologies. They aim to then use this stable foundation to spin off totally new to market software products that utilise the latest technologies to revolutionise business processes.
Former Queen Mary University student Polly Nelson, now FWOSS research director, said, Receiving KEF funding is brilliant news. Not having to take money out of the company to support all of us gives us a real chance to build up our business."
Founded in a small front room, their company has recently expanded into a newly built office. Now that they have the space to do so, FWOSS hope to employ their first members of staff within the next six months; and are planning to start the development of an initial product within the year.
Imperial College graduate Adrian Lewis, 23, now FWOSS technical director, said: We aim to grow through constant innovation. By continually innovating internally we not only stay ahead of the market and test out software ideas for the future, we develop an efficient, sustainable and very scalable business."
In the short time they have been established, the company have already completed successful software contracts and achieved approved supplier status for prestigious companies both in the UK and internationally.
By building up customer loyalty and creating a network of business contacts; the company now hope to establish themselves as a key player in the UK IT market.
