ITS MAKE OR BREAK FOR LIEBERMAN
A Political Analysis: Technical Analysis Points to a Crucial Time For Joes Campaign
New York, NY - September 3, 2003 - Cytrader.com -- At one point the prospect of Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman winning the Democratic Nomination for President had moved his Democratic Nomination Contract to a high of $33.00. Today the contract is trading at a revisited low of $9.00. Having traded at $9.00 back in January of 2003, the contracts technicals display a clear double-bottom, which indicates that the Senator has a chance to regain steam and move ahead in locking up the nomination bid.
Currently, the Democratic Presidential Nominees stack up as follows. Howard Deans contract is priced the highest at $33.00, fighting back from an all-time low of $5.00 back in May. John Kerry is second and well behind Dean with a contract price of $20.00. Its important to note that Kerry had traded as high as $54.00 back in January 2003, and recently broke south of key support levels at $28.00. This indicates that Kerrys campaign will continue to lose ground against the other candidates in the near future. Interestingly enough, Hillary Clinton, although still not officially running for the Presidential Nomination, had a recent price breakout after trading between $4.00 and $8.00. She looks poised to breakout further if support is found in the current cup-and-handle formation, and an official announcement of her intentions to run for the Presidency wouldnt hurt either.
Senator Joe Lieberman, like Senator Clinton, is in the midst of forming a strong technical indicator, which could propel his contract price much higher in the weeks and months to come. If Liebermans contract price were to fall below the current $9.00 support level, the Senators chances for recovering to a competitive level with his campaign will be greatly reduced. The double-bottom is sending a message that traders think positive news is on the horizon for Liebermans campaign. If positive news is nowhere to be found, Lieberman could find his contract price and his chances of winning the Democratic Presidential Nomination at zero.
