Physicians go Virtual
Thanks to DocCafe.com's Virtual Career Fairs, Physicians are now able to seek new positions with employers from the comfort of their own computer.
Warsaw, Indiana (PRWEB) 4 Sep 2003 DocCafe.com schedules second Virtual Career Fair for Hospitals, Employers and Physicians. Following the success of its first Virtual Career Fair targeted at Medical Residents and Fellows seeking jobs, DocCafe.com announced its 2nd Virtual Career Fair scheduled for October 20th -- 24th.
We are pleased to report that this second Fair will be targeted to both Practicing Physicians and graduating Residents and Fellows," said company President, Laura Fitzsimmons. We know that Hospitals, Clinics and Recruiters are desperately seeking the best candidates available, and we firmly believe that the virtual format we have developed brings these groups together quickly and efficiently."
DocCafe.com, a job posting website serving Physicians and their Employers, began developing the concept of its Virtual Career Fair almost 2 years ago. Company President and Co-Founder Laura Fitzsimmons worked with Co-Founder Kelly Burnworth on the concept after they both realized that the computer could provide a meeting ground for Physicians and Employers that was inexpensive and non-threatening. With their concept, Physicians and Employers can meet in a Virtual setting online. Physicians can view virtual information about each employer and their available positions. This information can range from simple job listings to videos about the hospitals, practices and communities they serve. Physicians can even have conversations with these employers who are waiting by their office computers and phones during the fair.
We know the expense and energy that goes into traditional Career Fairs. Employers attending a traditional Career Fair, have to provide a booth, staff, printed literature and an assortment of other things. It is a major expense and distraction. Worst of all, after all of this effort, most Employers only manage to speak to about 15% of the attendees." We felt that employers would be happy to do away with the usual expense and headache if they could be given an innovative and effective way to have meaningful contact with qualified Physicians." Our Virtual Career Fair allows them to stay in their office and have the candidates come to them," says Kelly Burnworth.
The first Virtual Career Fair, held last June, saw 10,000 Medical Residents and Employers participating. It was a huge success and clearly showed that we are on the right track with this," said Laura Fitzsimmons. We were second guessing ourselves right up until the Fair began, but then everything just exploded and we knew it was working." Clearly the medical community is embracing technology and looking for ways to use it to make their life easier." Our Virtual Career Fair saves everyone time and money" say Kelly and Laura. We know this next fair will be bigger and better and we are working frantically on several new features that will make the experience of Virtual Job Searching even easier."
