NEW TRAVEL CATALOG ASKS 'WHATS WITHIN 100 MILES?

Coeur dAlene, ID -- September 4, 2003 -- Travel, tourism and hospitality executives around the country are about to be asked Whats within 100 miles of you?"

The Marketing Dept announced it is accepting Placement for 100 Miles in Either Direction, the second in a family of print catalogs that allow consumers to make purchases online direct from the source.

100 Miles in Either Direction is a traveler's delight of adventures near and far, destinations exotic and hard-to-find, and products that can make a journey easier and more exciting. It features travel and tourism destinations, travel-related products, and transportation options.

100 Miles in Either Direction will be mailed in the early spring of 2004 to over 200,000 upper-income households that have booked or purchased travel related items via the Internet within the past year.
Each catalog Placement directs consumers to the advertisers website. In the case of destinations or places to stay, the catalog tells the consumer whats within 100 miles.

If someone says theyre 100 miles from nowhere, thats perfect for travelers who want to get away from it all," said David Ziegler, catalog publisher and owner/president of The Marketing Dept. INC. The 100 mile statement is an effective point of reference for the advertiser. Maybe its a day trip from where the person lives, or is planning to visit. And it could also serve as an 'Ive always wanted to go there or I never knew that was there selling point for the advertiser."

The catalog will also feature a 'By State and 'By Manufacturer index card of advertisers for easy cross-reference.

Everything you read in the trade publications points to the need for 100 Miles," said Ziegler. The outlook for travel is good, more people are booking trips online and more people are shopping online. Weve positioned ourselves in the right place at the right time for the success of our clients."

To be included in the catalog the consumer must be able to make a purchase or reservations by visiting a website, such as an online form or an eight-hundred number found on the website.

Our family of catalogs work as a 'Search Engine In Print," said Ziegler. We provide companies and manufacturers a way to get consumers to their websites, without the shopper having to dredge through thousands of search engine listings to find the place or product. Its a very affordable option to reach a national audience."
