International Dove Ball to Host Atlantas Movers and Shakers
International Dove Ball Fundraiser for Adoption
ATLANTA -- The International Dove Ball slated for September 27, 2003, at the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead will host a slew of attendees from politicians to CEOs to the citys socialites. The A-list includes Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue and First Lady Mary Perdue, who are serving as Dove Ball honorary chairpersons; former Governor George Busbee and First Lady Mary Beth Busbee; Senator Saxby Chambliss; State Senator Jeff Mullis; State Senator Nadine Thomas; and Congressman Mac Collins and Julie Collins to name a few.
The International Dove Ball, which is sponsored in part by Georgia Power, AGL Resources, and Kroger, will feature dinner, music, and both silent and live auctions. At this prestigious event former Georgia governors will be honored for legislation passed during their terms that affected childrens lives. In April of this year, Governor Perdue, a foster parent himself since 1998, helped pass senate bill that positively affects Georgias foster families and children. At the event, the IAC will also bestow attending governors with the first annual Common Ground Dove Award.
The event will also feature the official signing of an international agreement between the Mexican government and the IAC and witnessed by Governor Sonny Perdue. During this past year, the IAC has fostered a solid relationship with Mexicos Sistema Nacional para el Desarollo Integral de la Familia (National System for the Integral Development of the Family). Together, we will launch a pilot program featuring an adoption management system in Baja California.
The Intercountry Adoption Congress (IAC), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit human rights group, was formed to give orphans a strong advocate and to overhaul an adoption system badly in need of repair. For additional information on the IAC, please visit www.iacongress.org.
