TARZANA, CA September 2003 -- For a few exceptional people, the entertainment industry is more than a job, its a brilliant career of quality work and notable accomplishments. 2BAW Entertainment is proud to announce the honoree for the Lifetime Achievement Award, to be presented at the 2BAW Entertainment Music Seminar, 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2003. This years honoree: Entertainment Manager, Matthew Knowles.
This year's honoree is one of the most distinguished and accomplished in Hollywood. Career multi-hyphenate, Matthew Knowles is an internationally recognized entertainment manager. His Lifetime Achievement Award honors more than a decade of steering careers in music and acting in film & television.
The first thing you will notice about Matthew Knowles is how comfortable he is with himself. For Knowles, success has been a way of life. He is manager of the Grammy award winning group, Destinys Child, and father of one member, Beyonce Knowles.
From his earlier years as a sales and marketing representative for Xerox to co-owning a hair salon in Houston to managing Destinys Child, Knowles has always found himself ahead of the pack. I think successful people will be successful at whatever they do because there are common traits. They love what they do with a passion, they think out of the box, they work smart and hard, and theyll do that extra to achieve."
Finding his passion for music, Knowles found his superstar right under his own roof. The vision about getting in the music industry really started when Beyonce was really young and she actually performed. My wife and I didnt know she had this talent. We were really surprised. Thats when I really started giving her some attention for music because I saw this special thing she had."
Knowles has mastered the art of surviving and thriving in the music business. A large part of Knowles success is the result of tenacity, vision and drive. I would say that Im very assertive," he offers, seemingly uneasy with discussing his own attributes. Im very focused, still very humble, and number two is just not good enough for me. Ive been that way in everything Ive done."
