New German Preschool Program in downtown Vancouver!

Monday, September 8th, 2003, at 10 am will be the start of two new exciting programs at Coal Harbour Community Centre. The Pied Piper Preschool Program will offer an early childhood program Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am to 12 noon for children ages 2-5. The second program, Tunes & Balloons will offer a German-only infant/toddler music class on Wednesdays and an all-welcome class on Fridays from 9:15 to 9:45 am. The three teachers, Elke Porter, Annette Arndt and Marianne Buerger are also planning to fill the fall with festivals. They will be celebrating a Kinder Karneval" on October 31st, in lieu of Halloween, a Lantern Festival on November 14th, a Nicholas Festival on December 5th, and a Christmas Festival on December 12th. Flexible days of attending only one, two or all three days are possible, as well as joining us on a drop-in basis. Of course, the more often your young child is exposed to a language, the quicker they will learn it.

Who is this program suited for? Children directly from Germany, Austria and Switzerland who would like to maintain the language, children where one parent is German-speaking, children where the grandparents speak German, or children who have an aptitude for a second language would all be suitable to attend.
