Non-Profit Nursery Celebrates Use of California Native Plants at Annual Fall Festival and Sale
Theodore Payne Foundation Nursery Hosts Annual Event Which Includes Sale of Native Plants, Books and Seeds,Demonstrations, and Art Show. Members of the foundation receive a 15% discount and visitors, 10%.
WHAT
The fall is the time for planting and cultivating California native plants. Unlike other areas of the United States when spring is the time for planting , the fall is the best time to plant native flora here in California and the Southwest.
The Theodore Payne Foundation for Wildflowers and Native Plants will celebrate the unique value of California native plants at its annual fall festival and sale. Three days of events, including the sale of plants, seeds and books, will show how easy it is to plant and care for a California native garden.
WHO
The festival and sale is free and open to the public. Nursery staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions in English and Spanish for the public and news media.

he Theodore Payne Foundation (www.theodorepayne.com) operates a not-for-profit nursery and is dedicated to preserving native plants of California through education, promotion and restoration of California landscapes, and the propagation and sale of California native plants to the public. The Foundation is celebrating 100 years since Theodore Payne opened his first nursery and started selling California native plants and seeds.
