Rabid Press has evolved!

Attention! Rabid Press is undergoing an evolution. Short Fiction writers are now welcome. Please check the Short Fiction Submission Guidelines, and let 'er rip!

Short Fiction Submission Guidelines

Beginning in October, short story authors will be featured every month on our website. The submissions will be judged by our staff, and will be published online under a new section titled Featured Writers. While this will be a non-paying market, it is an excellent chance to get experience and gather credit for your name.

We will be accepting two forms of fiction:

Short stories: We are all aware of the power of a good short story. The form generally allows for 2000-5000 words, and gives the writer a chance to be subtle with character development. Only one piece will be chosen each month, so submit your best.

Guidelines: 2000-7000 words, dictated by a designated theme. Stories should be suitable for a general audience that may include children. No previously published material, and one submission of this type per author. This is a non-paying market.

Micro-fiction: A form of flash fiction, it is a complete story of 100 words or less, containing a beginning, middle, and an end. It is highly concentrated fiction--a snapshot. Writing these stories takes skill and forethought. Please bare in mind it is a highly addictive form of writing.

Guidelines: 100 words or less, dictated by a designated theme. Stories should be suitable for a general audience that may include young adults. No previously published material, and two submissions of this type per author. This is a non-paying market. Two pieces will be chosen each month for publication on the website.

Please submit your short fiction to submissions@rabidpress.com.

All published works are archived in our database online unless otherwise requested in writing. All copyright belongs to the author. If you reprint the piece elsewhere, we do ask that you cite Rabid Press as the first place of publication-also, it is polite to wait at least 4 months before reprinting it.

Good luck!
