Zspotlight Makes Its Mark on Triangle Entertainment Scene

Launched January 2003, ZSpotlight.com is among the newest and most rapidly growing on-line mediums in terms of both clients and viewers.

ZSpotlight offers a variety of interactive and entertaining pages and features a global calendar that showcases upcoming events in the Triangle. The On ZTown Photo Gallery" is a special section of the site where hundreds of pictures are posted weekly from various events and locations around the Triangle. Gathered by a team of ZSpotlight photographers scouring the Triangle, this section is packed with ever changing photos of people enjoying what the Triangle has to offer. According to co-founder Warren Hall, This is one of the most popular areas and one of the best ways to showcase restaurants, nightlife, music, and sports & recreation venues."
We have two primary objectives of equal importance. Our first goal is to provide the Triangle a visually stimulating, dynamic website that allows viewers to learn in detail what our area has to offer in entertainment. Our second is to provide our clients with a powerful advertising medium that promotes every facet of their business to their most viable customers and prospects. We strive to give them the highest level of exposure for their advertising dollar," added Hall.
Viewership has almost doubled every month since launch. According to co-founder Chris Pennington, Last months page view count exceeded the 410,000 mark, and hit counts topped 1.6 million. Our goal is to reach one million page views per month within the next six to eight months". He adds, We have several new product extensions currently in development as well as some hard hitting campaigns and local partnerships that we are confident will catapult us to that next level."
ZSpotlights advertising sales have also experienced considerable success building its current client membership to over 550. One of the first clients, The Rocky Top Hospitality Group manages Bogarts American Grill, Hi5, Michael Deans, and Vivo. According to Bill Cokas, Creative Director for Strategic Insights, the marketing firm that handles the Rocky Top Group, Going with ZSpotlight just made good sense given everything it offers. Viewers love the ease of use and how visually appealing it is but, most importantly, from a business perspective, it allows us to utilize a full spectrum of powerful marketing tools to drive business to our establishments."
The Triangle area itself is one of the reasons for ZSpotlights success. According to the 2/23/2003 Nielson/NetRatings article Raleigh Metro Area Fastest in Internet Growth, ...Raleigh and the research triangle area have the fastest growing on-line population in the United States. The RTP areas unique online audience grew to 924,000 in January from 715,00 a year earlier, a growth rate of 29 percent."
