Gabriel Mark Hasselbach - a Jazz Force to be reckoned with - is debuting not one, but two CDs in the US this fall -- "Gabriel's Horns" for the smooth jazz format and "Come Out Swingin'" (featuring guest vocalist Michael Bublé) for traditional jazz lovers.

Composer and performer Gabriel Mark Hasselbach shows his versatility and talent to its fullest is these two new releases: "Gabriel's Horns" and "Come Out Swingin'" on the independent Wind Tunnel Multimedia label.

Vancouver, B.C. (PRWEB) September 18, 2003 - In what is believed unprecedented in the recording industry, Wind Tunnel MultiMedia is simultaneously releasing two separate new CDs today in the US, to contemporary and mainstream jazz formats, from award winning jazz composer and recording artist Gabriel Mark Hasselbach. The first, "Gabriel's Horns" featuring vocals by Christine Duncan to the smooth jazz format, and the second, "Come Out Swingin'" featuring a guest track by well-known vocal rising star Michael Bublé, to the mainstream jazz format.

Gabriel's Horns (Wind Tunnel Multimedia):
Dubbed by critics as a 'funkmeister of diverse talents', award winning multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Mark Hasselbach lives up to that praise in his oh-so-sexy ninth release Gabriel's Horns. Fluent, funky, fun, and fiery on trumpet, flutes, flugelhorn, 'bone, and EWI, Gabriel nails the contemporary jazz idiom with an exciting set of originals that already have critics drooling. His unique textural approach to combining his many horns is augmented by the sultry Sade style vocals of Christine Duncan.

Come Out Swingin' (Wind Tunnel Multimedia):
Critics rave "...a jazz master class.... if you are looking for an amazing collection of well performed jazz pieces, this is your album." Proving he truly leads a double life, award winning hornman Gabriel Mark Hasselbach puts forth a vibrant mainstream collection of uniquely arranged originals and standards that swing hard and yet get up close and personal. Gabriel shows sass and sensuality on trumpet, flutes, flugelhorn, 'bone, and EWI. Featuring the hot new rising vocal star, Michael Bublé.

Gabriel, a smooth jazz icon in Canada since 1981 with his first release on PolyGram (Solar Winds), is an original member of the multi-platinum Powder Blues Band. When he left Powder Blues to pursue a solo career, he's never looked back, with nine releases under his own name (ALL recently remastered and reissued), and many European and US releases, some as compilations with artists such as Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan, Lee Ritenour, Sade, etc.

"Gabriel may look like a mild mannered young executive with a horn, but appearances mask a funkmeister of diverse talents." Elle O'Day of Vancouver's Georgia Straight observes. Further, Alex Varty from the same publication says about Gabriel: "His abilities as a composer are on a par with his competence as a musician and I have no trouble seeing his material being picked up by others."

Gabriel is a featured performer at The Pender Harbour Jazz Fest, September 20, and master of ceremonies for the finale Sept 21 (http://www.phjazz.ca). He has the fabulous Miles Black on keys, as well as unsung heroes Adam Rohrlick on guitar, Steven Dick on drums, and Glenn Riley on bass. He also recorded a CBC Hot Air show September 12, for broadcast in January. Jazziz magazine ads for both of the new CDs start running in October and a track from Gabriel will be included on the Jazziz sampler CD in February 2004.

Gabriel is available for interviews and looks forward to any chance to share his music, philosophy of the arts, thoughts on Mainstream versus Smooth formats, and the answer to the often asked question of just why he leads a "Double Jazz Life."
