We are shocked that the numbers keep spiraling downward for professionals of color" stated Kathleen Brieske, Associate Director of NAMWOLF. Though this particular study focused on the broadcast industry, we can state similar findings in the legal profession. Over the coming months, we will be reaching out to the major television and radio companies to start a dialog regarding their outside counsel retention practices. It is imperative that minority and women-owned law firms have opportunities to compete for legal assignments outsourced by the television and radio industry." she went on to add.
The National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (www.namwolf.org) was founded in June, 2001. It is a national trade association comprising a select group of minority and women-owned law firms who exhibit excellence in the legal profession. The primary aim of the organization is to advocate for the utilization of minority and women-owned law firms by major corporations and public entities throughout the United States.
