San Diego Artist to Exhibit in Southwest US

San Diego based watercolorist Roni Sumer will display and have for sale originals and prints of her artwork throughout the southwestern US in the coming months.

San Diego based watercolorist Roni Sumer will display and have for sale originals and prints of her artwork at three venues in the San Diego area over the next month. Sept 20th & 21st at The Spanish Village Fall Art Festival outside the Spanish Village in Balboa Park. On Sept 28th & 29th her work will be available at the 17th Annual Menghini Winery Art Festival on Farmers Road in Julian, CA. Sumer will also participate in the City Arts Festival held in the downtown San Diego Gaslamp District on Oct 12th displaying her work at the Rock Bottom Brewery on G Street.

Sumer also plans to participate in the Affaire in the Garden in Beverly Hills on Oct 18th and 19th and is confirmed for the ArtFest of Scottsdale (Arizona) on Nov 22nd and 23rd. More Arizona, New Mexico and Southern California locations are planned for the first quarter of 2004.

Sumer who recently won Best of Show at the Southwestern Artist's Association Annual Exhibition has been juried into numerous exibitions including the San Diego County Fair, Escondido Municipal Gallery, The Period Gallery in Omaha, NE and the Limner Gallery in New York. Her work is representational watercolors on paper that include landscapes, florals, cityscapes, seascapes, nature and figures.

"I use watercolor as my media because the transparent paints flow together to create translucence and unique colors that reflect the emotions I want to portray. Watercolor also allows me to capture that ever elusive shadow that I love to paint" says Sumer.

She offers her work on her website and through galleries like the Artisans Gallery on Grand Avenue in the newly refurbished downtown of Escondido, CA.
