Vertex Standard Announces New Mobile Series -- The VX-5500 -- Designed for Demanding Applications, Today and Tomorrow

Vertex Standard continues its rollout of exciting new products with the introduction of the VX-5500 Public Safety Mobile Series in both VHF and UHF models.

CYPRESS, CA (PRWEB) September 13, 2003 -- Vertex Standard continues its rollout of exciting new products with the introduction of the VX-5500 Public Safety Mobile Series in both VHF and UHF models. This new mobile builds on the rugged and reliable reputation of the VX-4000 Series and enhances it with improved specifications, flexible configuration and operation. The addition of the VX-5500 gives the line a distinct competitive advantage with its easy expandability," states Scott Henderson, Vertex Standards Executive Vice President.

As with all Vertex Standard products, the VX-5500 is built tough to meet or exceed Mil Std 810 C/D/E standards including dust, shock, vibration, temperature, solar radiation, humidity and salt fog. This new series offers 50W (VHF) and 45W (UHF) RF power output (selectable Low Power by channel) to get the users message through, even under the most demanding of public safety operating conditions.

From the 250 channel capability to the programmable-by-channel bandwidth (12.5 / 25 kHz) to the 2.5 kHz resolution in VHF to the versatile scanning features, including Priority and Group Scan, the VX-5500 Mobile is built for ease of use.

Our customers require increasing flexibility in their mobile communications applications," says Henderson, so we designed it in up-front on the VX-5500, with the features (CTCSS / DCS signaling and programmable PTT ANI) needed for effective operation. Plus we offer several plug-in and programmable signaling options such as Rolling Code or Simple Inversion Encryption and Two-Tone Decode for even more versatility."

The VX-5500 Series was designed to be networked for multi-band operation so that VHF and UHF can be combined to satisfy even the most complicated multi-agency requirements, including those of federal, state and local government. A single RF Deck may be controlled by up to three different Control Heads, depending on the installation needs of the user.

In addition to a choice of Control Head configurations, the VX-5500 list of flexible and user-friendly features continues with an easy to read 8-digit, alphanumeric LCD display and seven programmable backlit function keys on the front of the unit. Feature access customization is easily accomplished at the time of programming.

A full line of accessories complements these new mobiles and the VX-5500 models are backed with a 3-year warranty from Vertex Standard.
