Electronic House Magazine Names ELAN Home Systems VIA!®dj Product of the Year

Latest Honor Represents Fifth Major Award for ELANs Popular Digital Audio Storage and Music Management System

The ELAN VIA!dj Digital Music Server features a 160-gigabyte hard drive that enables homeowners to view and play their CD and MP3 collections from any ELAN VIA!® Touch Panel or TV in the house. Navigation is easy and intuitive, with large, full-color graphics displayed on the ELAN Touch Panels and TVs. Users can view album cover art for each CD, select music they want to listen to by CD title, artist, song name, playlist, and more.

A highly unique digital music server, ELANs VIA!dj not only works well as a single room or home theater solution using its digital output, but it can also seamlessly integrate into a whole house system, providing digital music throughout the home. With its four discrete audio outputs, the VIA!dj allows independent listening in multiple rooms, and music can easily be selected using VIA! Touch Panels from any location. The VIA!dj retails for $3,600.

Electronic House Magazines Product of the Year Awards are presented annually by EH Publishing and honor the best in home automation and home entertainment products. The editors of EH Publishing's four magazines that are dedicated to the electronic house all choose their favorite products through a democratic voting process. Award recipients were chosen based on reviews that ran throughout the year, product demos, and surveys conducted with the installers and users of the products. Topping the list of criteria is technological innovation, overall value, and outstanding features.

The winners of this year's awards will be featured in the September issue of Electronic House magazine, which will have bonus distribution to thousands of CEDIA Expo attendees.

The Electronic House Product of the Year Award represents the fifth award bestowed upon VIA!dj in the span of less than one year. The other awards are: 2003 CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) Mark of Excellence - Product of the Year Award, 2003 CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) Mark of Excellence - Best Audio Component Award, 2002 EHX (Electronic House Expo) Distributed Audio Award- Best Digital Audio Storage & Music Management System Award, and 2003 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) Innovations Design & Engineering Showcase Award.
