American Gladiators Fitness, a Santa Barbara company specializing in designing fitness programs for youth and adults, in association, with the Lift For Kids Foundation, was selected by the Maury Povich
Television show to provide their 12-week FITBody exercise and fitness program to five overweight kids and their parents.

The first in a series of shows airs this Wednesday on KTLA at 9 am.

Each family received a customized training and exercise manual, activity journals, and walking step counters to effectively record daily workouts and incentive points earned. Increased physical
activity in combination with a sensible diet is the primary focus of the American Gladiators FITBody program. Local fitness trainers will administer the FITBody program and each family's progress is monitored using the American Gladiators BodyImage
System that accurately details their body composition and proportionality measurements.

Gary E. Lemons, President & CEO of American Gladiators Fitness said the program was a great way to highlight the importance of parental involvement with overweight and out of shape kids. During the 12
week program, the parents and kids will participate in
cardiovascular and resistance training, combined with a rigorous daily walking program. Their progress will be measured each six weeks, and the TV show will air their results at the end of the twelve week period. The goal is to help these 5 families achieve significant weight loss that lasts a lifetime.
