San Leandro, CA (PRWEB) September 16, 2003 -- Dr. Elizabeth Kearney was selected as one of three women to be honored by Bay Area chapters of the American Business Womens Association (ABWA) as the 2003 Women of Distinction in celebration of Womens Day.
Dr. Kearney was selected because of her ability to successfully balance business, family and personal life," stated Linda Pratt, American Business Womens Day Chair.
Dr. Kearney currently resides in San Leandro, California, is a published author of some 16 books (3 of which were Fortune Book-of-the-Month club selections) and founded Kearney & Associates: The Experts Alliance in 1983.
She and her associates design and present programs customized to fit their clients identified needs. She says her greatest personal achievement was raising two bright, successful, warm-hearted and loving children who are truly two of [her] closest friends." She noted that We are merely part of a chain of history, and if we can contribute in any positive way to the forging of that chain, we have truly accomplished our lifes major mission."
The event was initiated by ABWA in 1982 to honor business women in the community. In 1983 and 1986, joint congressional resolutions were passed designating a national observance of September 22nd as American Business Womens Day. The American Business Womens Association has more than 60,000 members. There are 14 chapters in the Bay Area from Monterey to Healdsburg.
A panel of judges for the 2003 Women of Distinction award selected the following women for this outstanding distinction:
