Kenneth Pobo Gives Us an Introduction inside His World of Colorful Characters
Atlanta, Georgia, September 16, 2003 - Villa Park, Illinois native and Associate Professor at Widener University,Kennth Pobo shares his latest literary jewel with his second book of poetry, Introduction that will debut on October 2, 2003 under the publishing reign of Pearls Book'em Publisher.
Introductions is Kenneths device to show us that what weve known before through storytelling is only half of the story. Kenneth shows us a different view and helps us to understand that theres always two sides to every story. Through his exploration of various colorful characters, Kenneth helps us to understand the world around us, and gives us hope that once we understand what motivates each other, that perhaps we can live harmoniously in todays society. With the current state of affairs in and around our homeland, a book of this magnitude that offers hope of peace and acceptance, will be well received by people from all walks of life.
This poetic journey is just one of many phenomenal rhymes by Kennth Pobo. Kenneth has also developed an impressive writing career. Some of his accomplishments include, but are not limited to appearing on the TV show Poet to Poet in 2000, and publishing several books in print. Kenneth also has numerous chapbook publications and essays. His poems appear in over two hundred journals online as well as in print. Some of these journals include, American Writing, Atlanta Review, Colorado Review, Indiana Review, Mudfish, Orbis, Porcupine, Xanadu, and Wascana Review. He has performed at poetry readings at the Sedgewick Cultural Arts Center, Philadelphia Free Library, the Mad Poets Review, and many more. Kenneth is the winner of the 1998 Palanquin Press Poetry Chapbook contest, and is a recipient of the Mae E. Gales Creative Writing Award.
Kenneth Pobo began writing poetry in the seventies while studying for an English degree at Wheaton College. After obtaining a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English, Kenneth continued his education and obtained a PhD in English from the University of Wisconsin. He is presently an Associate Professor at Widener University. Kenneth Pobo's prolific writings are inspired by such poets as Lucille Clifton, John Donne, Langston Hughes, T.S. Eliot and Rita Dove. He is also an environmentalist who declares, "We have one planet. We've messed it up. We'd better make
changes--fast!"
