Sweden (PRWEB) September 18 2003--Netsize, the international market leader for mobile business and entertainment solutions, has announced the launch of its Mobile Content Management Platform. The platform has been designed to provide content providers with an immediate route to market, offering a complete content hosting, delivery and billing solution.
"The Netsize Content Management Platform offers games developers an immediate and direct route to market with minimum investment and maximum returns," explains Craig Barrack, UK country manager for Netsize. "We enable the delivery and billing of content over multiple mobile technologies such as Java, SMS, WAP and MMS, whichever is best suited to the constantly evolving requirements of our customers." Java is becoming an established mobile content standard and Netsize offers Premium SMS billing access to over 300 million mobile phone users spread over 60 mobile operators across Europe providing the perfect combination for the end-to-end management, delivery and billing of content." he added.
IDG Sweden is the first customer implementation where Netsize has provided the end-to-end content management, hosting and billing solution for Java games, which can be downloaded and played on mobile phones. IDG has launched the service to appeal to its technically inclined readers with a keen interest in new mobile technologies. Java games are a source of entertainment for mobile phone users and offer incremental revenues to content providers and brand owners such as IDG.
"The Netsize Content Management Platform presented us with the fastest and most cost efficient route to market. IDG has a lot of online customers who are interested in the latest advances in mobile technologies and are willing to pay for value added content on their mobile phones. We already offer trial software downloads and adding mobile content was a natural extension as it educates customers and offers entertainment, which is a very rare combination. As the service is entirely hosted and managed by Netsize we were easily able to integrate the content with our website and launch immediately." says Mikael Samuelsson of IDG Sweden.
The Netsize Platform offers an immediate route to market enabling content providers to focus on developing their services and leaving Netsize to manage the end-to-end content management, delivery and billing process. More than 400 million Java-enabled handsets are expected to be in use by 20041, and according to telecoms consultancy, Analysys, the Western Europe market for Java games alone is expected to reach €3 billion by 2005. Games are currently being sold between 3 and 7 euros on the continent and between 3 and 5 in the UK, and with more new Java compatible phones being launched in the market Java content is expected to become even more lucrative.
The Netsize Content Management Platform removes the need for content providers to invest in service delivery and billing infrastructures or enter into lengthy application processes to join operator or third party content aggregator portals. The device-aware platform uses premium rate SMS as a billing mechanism for consumers, offering a fast and transparent payment channel and revenue stream for Java content such as games, images, music and applications.
