Ashland Design Center to offer personalized instruction in Southern Oregon

"There's this emphasis on integrating each person's individual creativity with high functional standards, whether you're learning basic web site construction, or the intricacies of marketing and e-commerce."

ASHLAND, OR (PRWEB) September 20, 2003 -- A new name in private education is coming to the Rogue Valley this October. Situated on the corner of East Main and Mountain at the former Temple Emek Shalom, the Ashland Design Center, founded by Alexander Bilmes, will open its doors Oct. 27th to all who have a specific interest in the field of web design.

Bilmes, whose facility is currently undergoing renovation, says his service will be unique in the Valley. "The idea is that people can sign up for a course completely custom-tailored to their needs, and come out of it enriched with knowledge that's germane to their interest," he says. "There's this emphasis on integrating each person's individual creativity with high functional standards, whether you're learning basic web site construction, or the intricacies of marketing and e-commerce."

An Ashland resident, Bilmes has designed numerous web sites for corporate clients nationwide, as well as overseas. Tuition, ranging from $400 to $600, covers a comprehensive weeklong course of one-on-one instruction, for which applicants are personally interviewed.

"This is a quality-committed, very dedicated mode of instruction," says Bilmes. His father, renowned commercial artist Semyon Bilmes, will simultaneously open the Ashland Academy of Art, the school's main branch, in the 8,000-sqare foot landmark building. "One school, one large building, two very different kinds of art. I can't wait to get things going," says the younger Bilmes. "We anticipate a pretty positive response."

The Ashland Academy of Art and Design Center is opening at 1081 East Main, across the street from Ashland High School. For more information, or to register for enrollment, call 201-8089 or visit www.ashlandacademyofart.com and www.ashlanddesigncenter.com.
