FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA (PRWEB) Sept. 21, 2003 -- Norchem Drug Testing president, Bill Gibbs, announced the appointment of Andrew J. Fischinger, Ph.D. MT (ASCP) as Scientific Director. Dr. Fischinger comes to Norchem from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where he served as Clinical Toxicologist.
"We are fortunate to get someone with Dr. FischingerÂs background in toxicology, chemistry and pathology, Norchem president Gibbs observed. "He brings to the position an unusual combination of practical experience and academic achievement."
Dr. Fischinger holds a doctorate in Physical Chemistry from the Illinois Institute of Technology and was a post doctoral fellow in clinical chemistry & clinical pathology at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He has over fifteen years experience in forensic toxicology and laboratory management. Dr. Fischinger has developed over 100 laboratory testing protocols for toxicology, immunology and clinical chemistry and has served as the SAMHSA ÂResponsible Person at National Health Laboratories/Labcorp in Winston Salem N.C., and at Unilab in Tarzana, Ca.

In addition to his leadership roles in many laboratories, Dr. Fischinger has also taught at several universities, including Wake Forest University and Vassar College. He has authored multiple scientific articles.
