Schaefer previously served as a Director for the Home Builders Institute, the Workforce Development Arm of the National Association of Home Builders, in Washington D.C. During his tenure there, he implemented training program initiatives for 850 locations nationwide. Most recently, Schaefer founded the Peregrine Resource Group, a consulting resource organization designed to clarify and enhance corporate visions, missions, values and strategies.

Schaefer resides in Newmarket, NH with his wife and two children. His hobbies include tennis, sailing and skiing.
