Mayo Clinic Jacksonville & St. Lukes Hospital Join Campaign to Encourage Teens to Pursue Careers in Health Services

Huntington Beach, CA (PRWEB) September 25, 2003- With the talent crisis in the health services industry showing no signs of subsiding in the future, Mayo Clinic Jacksonville & St. Lukes Hospital join the young adult recruitment campaign of Teens4Hire.org to educate and attract teens into a field that is desperate for workers in just about every specialty at every level.

There are jobs. Health services workers at all levels of education and training are needed. In some cases, a four year degree is not required for high paying jobs," says Renee Ward, founder/executive director of www.Teens4Hire.org, a national online career center for employers and teens in the high school and college age groups. The service is free for teens.

In the Careers in Health Services" section of www.teens4hire.org, teens get an overview of the types of jobs available, education, skills and talent required, occupational outlook, and an opportunity to apply online for existing job openings. Career information has been tailored to meet the needs of teenagers.

High school graduates and junior college students can apply online for paid entry level jobs and if hired, may qualify for generous tuition assistance to pursue a career in a high paying specialty area such as radiography, respiratory care, and nursing. Scholarships and loan programs are available too.

Teens, as young as 14, can qualify for meaningful volunteer opportunities that exist today. This is great experience for young teenagers who have aspirations of pursuing a medical or health services career," says Ward.

Mayo Clinic is a multi-specialty outpatient clinic providing medical and surgical care for adults. Opened in Jacksonville, FL in 1986, it is their first extension beyond Rochester, MN. St. Lukes Hospital is a 289-bed, not-for-profit, non-denominational hospital providing services for most medical and surgical specialties. As the first private hospital in Florida, St. Lukes Hospital has served the Jacksonville area for more than 125 years.

If youre a teen whos undecided about a career, you owe it to yourself to check out the opportunities that Mayo Clinic Jacksonville & St. Lukes Hospital have to offer.

The Forward Group, a privately held company, publishes Teens4Hire.org and Seniors4Hire.org.
