PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY DEAN SUPPORTERS MONTHLY MEET-UP EXPANDS IN PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY
Grassroots Organizers Answer Questions and Welcome Volunteers at Bowies Glory Days Grill and Greenbelts New Deal Café
GREENBELT, MD -- On Wednesday, October 1, 2003, Howard Dean supporters in Prince Georges County will join with Dean supporters across the country in similar Meetups to help organize the grassroots campaign of Howard Dean. As support for Governor Deans campaign continues to expand, we will be hosting two Meetups in Prince Georges County this month and will be expanding to more communities in the coming months in advance of the Maryland Primary and general election.
Over 114,300 Meetup members have now signed up for the October 1st Meetup at over 700 locations across America, including Bowie and Greenbelt. Meetup is an informal gathering of Dean supporters, facilitated by the independent website Meetup.com, and serves both as an introduction for new folks to the Dean campaign, and as a way for Dean supporters to network and fulfill campaign tasks. Meetups are free and open to anyone interested in the candidate or campaign.
Governor Deans campaign surge is reflected in the latest Zogby polls of Iowa voters. In a release last week, Zogby reports Dean with 23% leads Gephardt with 17% - a reversal of Aprils numbers. In New Hampshire, Dean had a wide 38% to Kerrys 17%. They also find Dean in a virtual tie in South Carolina. The Maryland Primary is now only five months away. "We are a 50-state campaign," says campaign manager Mr. Joe Trippi. "This is going to happen really fast. This is going to be the most compressed primary cycle in history."
