September 24, 2003, Blairsville, GA - Non-traditionally published authors to take Andersonville by storm.
Each October the big event at the Andersonville Fair is the Civil War re-enactments where crafters have long sold their wares, but this October 4th and 5th, crafters of a different type will be arriving in force. Word crafters that is - a select group of independent authors who plan to carry the day.
Led by Global Authors Publications Inc. Head Publisher, Kathleen Walls, these non-traditionally published authors are setting up shop and bringing their own unique books to thrill the over ten thousand visitors expected to throng this tiny community for the annual festival.
Walls' books include, "Georgia's Ghostly Getaways", a spirited travelogue of the best haunted spots in Georgia, "Kudzu", a novel set in north Georgia Mountains in present and post-civil periods, and "Man Hunt - The Eric Rudolph Story", an in-depth look at the most famous fugitive of this decade.
Other attending authors will be:
Glenda Ivey, with her novel, "Ripped Apart", about a mother's fight to reunite with her "kidnapped" daughter.
J. Donald Oakes, who offers an autobiographical look into growing up a sharecropper's son in rural Alabama in his "The Stump's On Fire and I'm Naked" novel.
Ed Williams' and his original work, "Rough as a Cobb", which has all of Georgia in stitches.
Barbara Davis addresses the illegal poaching of endangered animals in Africa in "Darkside of Debonair".
The common thread which draws these talented authors together is their non-traditional publishing style and their membership in one of the premiere online writer's communities called, "Not the Usual Way".
