Red Dirt Roundup television show seeks talent in Stillwater.
The season premiere of Red Dirt Roundup will air October 3, 2003. To make this season the best ever the crew is sponsoring a talent search for new faces.
Stillwater, OK- Producers of a local TV show are sponsoring the RED
DIRT (talent) ROUND UP on October 1, 2003. They hope to find new
talent to feature on the Red Dirt Round Up television show. The event
will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2003 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at
Court's Sports Bar at 911 W. 3rd in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Participants will be offered a selection of cue cards to showcase their
talents. They will have 60 seconds to read or improv from the
information on the cue card they choose. The ensuing antics will be
caught live on tape. "We hope to find some fresh faces,"Randy
Brumley, creator of the show told us, "Lots of OSU students have a
great sense of humor. If we find some people that are sharp and can
talk fast we'll put them on the show."
Brumley began the show in September 2002 to showcase amateur
filmmakers and videos from area bands. The comedy material is a
quirky mix of sight gags and satire aimed straight at rural Oklahoma,
"The mix has evolved over the last year, but the quirky edge hasn't
been polished off. We like to keep people guessing."
The Red Dirt Round Up is shown on KWEM in Stillwater and features
comedy, satire and music videos from independent artists. Beginning
October 3rd the half-hour show can be seen Fridays at 8:30 p.m. on
KWEM, which is UHF31 and cable channel 3 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
