SageGroup Strategies Opens a Shanghai Office to Help China-Related American and Chinese Companies
.
Shanghai, China; New York, NY; and Alameda, CA, USA --September 15, 2003 -- SageGroup Strategies announces concurrently in China and the USA that it has opened an important SGS Shanghai Office to serve troubled and untroubled China-related American and Chinese companies throughout both countries. This Office and the previously-opened SGS Beijing Office are the first two of several planned SGS Offices throughout China. Shanghai is the largest city in China and is often called the unofficial "business capital" of China. Beijing is the national capital city of China, as well as being a major business city itself.

As part of enhancing the multinational working relationship, cooperation, and mutual respect, SageGroup agreed to base the SGS Shanghai Office at the Shanghai headquarters office of Shanghai Guangji Business Consulting Company, Ltd., a well-established multinational management consulting and business services firm. This is similar to the Beijing arrangement where SageGroup accepted the invitation of the Beijing International Business Consultant & Service Center to base the SGS Beijing Office at the Beijing headquarters office of BIBCS, a Chinese government agency well-connected throughout China. (American entities typically have more distant, separated, and formal involvements in China.)

This SGS Shanghai Office is a facet of the working relationship reflected by a major agreement previously signed on August 1, 2003 by Shanghai Guangj and SageGroup to help American and Chinese untroubled and troubled companies.

SageGroup Strategies is the largest Professional Troubled-Company Specialist firm in the United States and the world, with over fifty offices nationally plus many international affiliations. Its Shanghai Office is the second of several other foreign Offices expected to be opened soon, with special focus on other key cities in China, elsewhere in Asia, and Europe.

Shanghai Guangji provides a wide variety of services to American and other foreign companies, acting as a one-stop service center for its clients' business operations in China. Its services include: 1) Providing management consultancy and business advice on tax, marketing, import/export, strategy, and related areas; 2) Helping foreign companies to set up their offices in China; 3) Assisting in market research and product/business development; 4) Arranging site visits to factories, exhibitions, economic development zones, and other places of business interest; and 5) Meeting its clients' other needs in addressing the unique China environment and its business, governmental, legal, cultural, and other aspects.

Shanghai Guangji and BIBCS thus offer very complementary services to American and other foreign companies, including clients of SageGroup and its non-China strategic alliance partners. (Under the Chinese governmental structure, BIBCS is an important part of a very large and comprehensive system that reaches into every part of China and is very important and influential throughout the Country. BIBCS itself is directly part of the Beijing Science & Technology Committee, which in turn is directly part of the Science & Technology Committee of China. The Chinese Ministry of Science & Technology is very, very important in China.)
SGS's China Division will work with Shanghai Guangji in many ways, including simple introductions where appropriate. The SGS focus is on complex situations, including troubled companies, American companies trying to do business in China, and Chinese companies trying to do business in the USA.

SageGroup provides troubled China-related companies with its powerful large group of professionals, who are experts at helping troubled companies get out of trouble and move forward. SageGroup's staff includes over 600 highly-qualified specialists, such as: China specialists; international business experts; global sourcing specialists; financing and financial experts; troubled-company experts; turnaround experts; marketing specialists; CPAs; attorneys; strategists; joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions experts; technologists; corporate executives; industry specialists; and others.
SageGroup's staff has been involved in hundreds of difficult company situations, including: Chinese business situations, global sourcing projects, international expansions, refinancings, turnarounds, crisis management, debtor programs, spin-outs, restructurings and reorganizations, and managed wind-downs and shut-downs.

The SGS Shanghai Office is based at the Shanghai Guangji headquarters, 33 Leshan Road, Block 4 Level 4, Shanghai Withub High Tech Incubator, Shanghai 200030, China, with phone calls directed to Mr. Ging-Yang Choo at phone number 8621-6447-2519. (And, the SGS Beijing Office is concurrently based at the BIBCS headquarters, No.16 Xizhimen Nan Dajie, Beijing 100035, China, with phone calls directed to Mr. Simon Xu (Xu Dong) at phone number 8610-6617-5895.) For maximum confidentiality and effectiveness within the USA, all initial inquiries are directed to Larry Lindsey, a SGS Managing Director and a SGS China Division Co-Manager at the SGS National Coordination Office, phone number (510) 865-2480.
