The City Countil of Pleasanton has proclaimed October 11, 2003 "Women Celebrating Women Day"

Pleasanton CA - On Saturday October 11, the Women Celebrating Women Conference will be held at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel. The comference is open to the public, and is sponsored by the Bay Area Council Chapters of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA)

The conference will feature 8 speakers, and attendees will be able to select from a variety of topics ranging from legal issues and financial matters to womens health and management.

In the proclamation, the council recognizes ABWAs contributions to working women, and urges citizens, to join the 60,000 nationwide members of ABWA in celebrating the accomplishments of women."

ABWAs mission statement is ...to bring together women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking, support and national recognition." The American Business Womens Association was founded in 1949 and is the third largest organization dedicated to professional women.
