This is event is part of a whole day dedicated to the awareness of cruelty-free products and is the evening portion of the day's events. The Humane Society is having another event earlier in the day in Hollywoood as well, and then this fundraiser for Animal Avengers tops off the evening! We hope you will show your support for the animals by attending both events!
BENEFICIARY: ANIMAL AVENGERS. Animal Avengers is dedicated to rescuing and placing homeless pets, reducing pet overpopulation, promoting responsible pet guardianship and preventing animal cruelty. In 2001 Animal Avengers celebrated our launch in both LA and NYC, and since then, Animal Avengers has helped place hundreds of abandoned pets into loving homes.
Through rescue and education, we can make a difference! Founded in February 2001 by actress Shannon Elizabeth and her husband Joseph Reitman, Animal Avengers is a Los Angeles based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue dedicated to rescuing and placing homeless pets, reducing pet overpopulation, promoting responsible pet guardianship and preventing animal cruelty. Our mission is simple:
Animal Avengers believes that an animal is a life to be treasured and respected. An animal is a companion and friend whose value cannot be measured. Animal Avengers mission is to help these loyal animals find loving homes and give them a second chance at life. We believe that through educating the community on the importance of spaying and neutering pets, advocating for their rights and working with other local organizations and agencies, we can end the needless destruction of unwanted animals and ensure that every pet has a good home.
THE EVENT: ANIMAL AVENGERS cordially invites you to be a part of our first Wear Aware! Fashion Show & Benefit on Sunday, November 2nd 2003, a fundraiser to help save more of our furry friends! This event will take place during Los Angeles Fashion Week, and the highlight will be the fashion show where you will see clothing, accessories and much more, before the general public sees them in the stores! This event is open to the public to attend.
The fashion show will be featuring a brand new group of new and established fashion designers, who do not use furs or leather, and are eco/animal friendly". Some of the designers include Octavio Carlin/Naqada, Starr D Jeans, Bee Naughty®, Sanni Diesner Atelier and Code Pink plus CONSCIOUS WEDDING GOWNS by Sanni Diesner, and many other local LA designers (Designers are subject to change without notice). We will also have surprise celebrity models, a celebrity host (TBA), musical artists, food and beverages, shopping and a silent auction.
Our event will be held at the CineSpace in Hollywood, beginning with a Cocktail Party/Silent Auction/Special Shopping Lounge/Live Music, followed by the Fashion Show. The live musical performances will be with two local LA musicians, Mark Latham and Chris Valenti.
