Metaverse Lifts Up Its Fulcrum Gallery to E-Commerce

The Fulcrum Gallery, an online gallery of original and limited edition artwork, gets upgraded with e-commerce ability, offers emerging artists an outlet to market their work.

PRINCETON, NJ (PRWEB) September 26, 2003: Just shy of a year prior to its initial launch, Metaverse Corporation has released a major upgrade to its Fulcrum Gallery website (www.fulcrumgallery.com), an online gallery of original and limited edition artwork. With a current inventory of original oil and acrylic paintings, photographs, mosaics, etchings, sculptures, and digital prints, priced from under a hundred dollars to over $50,000, the site now features e-commerce capability, allowing customers to put artwork into a shopping cart and checkout with a credit card online.

The Fulcrum Gallery was initially created as a showcase of Metaverse's Content Management software, to demonstrate its ability to manage dynamic multimedia content. After launch however, the Fulcrum Gallery took on a life of its own, reeling in traffic effortlessly as art appreciators world-wide found the site searching for their favorite artists. Now, with e-commerce capability, the site has transformed from a display-only showcase to a vibrant and distinct marketplace where emerging artists and art appreciators can connect.

Although the revamped site launches with only a few hundred pieces of art for sale, the gallery is adding new artists on a daily basis, and always accepting new submissions from artists. The Fulcrum Gallery offers artists more visibility, benefiting from our marketing and advertising campaigns, and full e-commerce ability, which many artists lack on their own personal websites. The Fulcrum Gallery does not charge artists to exhibit their work on the site, and offers a very competitive commission rate, at 30%.

To oversee operations of the Fulcrum Gallery, Metaverse has recently added George DiLorenzo to its senior management. George leaves Manhattan based Fantaseyes, where he served as Art Director.

"Technology doesn't get any sexier than the Fulcrum Gallery", said founder Doug Kerwin. Powered by Metaverse Content Server, the artwork seen on the Fulcrum Gallery is delivered by SOAP/XML Web Services, cached with Metaverse Agent, and admired by art appreciators everywhere.
