Engineer a Key Presenter at Two Bridge Design Conferences
Troy, NY -- September 29, 2003 -- Ryan-Biggs Associates P.C., consulting firm specializing in structural engineering, announced today that Robert H. Canham, P.E. recently presented technical papers at the International Bridge Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the First National Covered Bridge Conference in Burlington, Vermont.
Selected for his experience in the rehabilitation and restoration of covered bridges, Mr. Canham presented a paper titled Rigorous Structural Analysis and Load Rating of Historic Town Lattice Trusses" at the Covered Bridge Conference. The conference was held for highway engineers, covered bridge maintenance personnel, covered bridge preservation organizations, historic preservationists, structural engineers, and covered bridge historians. It featured subjects as diverse as bridge preservation case studies, best practices in maintaining covered bridges, and covered bridge history and cultural tourism strategies.
Mr. Canham presented papers titled Prefabrication and Construction of the Route 9 Bridge Over Interstate 87" and Design and Construction of a Two-Lane, 150-Foot Span, Timber Truss Bridge" at the widely attended International Bridge Conference. Over 1,200 bridge designers, constructors, educators, and owners from countries including the United States, Canada, and Great Britain, attended the International Bridge Conference held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
