VeriLAN Expands Wireless Broadband Network at Oregon Coast
Tigard, OR -- September 29, 2003 -- VeriLAN, Inc., an Oregon based wireless service provider, recently designed and installed a wireless network to allow residents of the coastal towns of Manzanita, Wheeler, Rockaway Beach, Nehalem, and Brighten/Nedonna to receive high speed wireless Internet access in their homes and businesses. VeriLAN expanded its wireless broadband network by an additional 70 square miles to provide wireless high speed Internet access to residents of South Rockaway Beach, Twin Rocks, Watseco, Barview, Garibaldi, and Tillamook.
Steven Schroedl, President of VeriLAN Inc., stated, VeriLAN is moving forward in bringing high speed Internet access to rural communities. Clients of the network only need Line of Sight to our antennas to receive service. VeriLAN now has roughly 100 square miles of coverage on the Oregon coast." Mr. Schroedl further states, We are currently beta testing new 802.16 radios in Portland Oregon. The new radios will not require line of site links, and will offer security with quality of service capability on a point to multipoint network. The new radios will be used where applications demand more performance and bandwidth."

The performance of the link is typically 20 times faster than the dial-up service, and does not use a phone connection.
