Maryland Attack Group hosts fall battle near Hagerstown, Maryland
The Maryland Attack Group,a radio controlled warship combat club and member of the International Radio Controlled Warship combat club, will host its fall regional battle at Greenbriar State Park, near Hagerstown Maryland on October 4th and 5th. Spectators are welcome to don safety glasses and watch as battlers from Florida to Massachusetts captain their scale warship models in battle. These boats actually fire BB's that penetrate balsa wood hulls and when too much damage is inflicted the boats can sink.
The Maryland Attack Group,a radio controlled warship combat club and member of the International Radio Controlled Warship combat club, will host its fall regional battle at Greenbriar State Park, near Hagerstown Maryland on October 4th and 5th. Battles begin at 10:00 a.m. and 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday and lasts about 90 minutes.
The IRCWCC (www.irwcc.com) is the worlds oldest model warship combat club. The captains build 1/144 scale models of actually sailed naval ships, arm them with low powered BB canons, defend them with bilge pumps, and sail against enemy fleets trying to inflict enough damage to sink the enemy ships.
The Maryland Attack Group (MAG) is the worlds largest local warship combat club with almost 40 members living in and around Maryland.
Some 30 battlers are expected to travel from as far as Massachusetts and Florida to attend the weekend event being held at Greenbriar State Park in Hagerstown, Maryland. Sectators are welcome to don safety glasses and watch as battlers captain their scale warship models in battle.
