Impresario Lifestyle provides pro bono personal assistant services to non-profit, Camp of Champions, Inc, an organization created to enrich childrens lives through the fundamentals of basketball. Daryl Battles, former Utah Jazz guard/forward and professional basketball player for the European, South American, Asian and African International Basketball Leagues, started the organization as a way to give back to his community.

MaShelle Epps, Impresario Lifestyle's President & CEO, met Daryl Battles at a networking event for entrepreneurs. Employing the concept of netweaving" (the new millennium approach to networking"), I didnt talk -- I listened. I listened intently to what Daryl had to say about himself and his non-profit organization, Camp of Champions, Inc., and I was genuinely intrigued.    Camp of Champions is a non-profit organization created to enrich childrens lives through the fundamentals of basketball. The companys mission is to enhance the social, cultural and religious awareness of children and to foster independence and self-reliance through organized basketball. The company provides youth educational workshops in religious writing and reading to develop the writing and reading skills of the children in the community. They also bring in past and current sports professionals to speak with the children and expose them to positive role models. Giving back to the community is critical to the economic and social wellbeing of our children and communities. After hearing about Camp of Champions, I knew I wanted to help.

After listening to Daryls description of Camp of Champions, Inc., I explained to him the services Impresario provides and offered our assistance. Initially, Daryl did not believe he could utilize our personal assistant and business management services. After speaking with him further, I realized that it wasnt that he didnt need our services, he simply was not aware of the vast resources an experienced personal assistants could provide him and his company. Taking the information Daryl shared with me, I made suggestions for turnkey, customized solutions Impresario could provide to help him reach his strategic business objectives. Upon realizing that there were in fact several business initiatives he needed assistance with, Darryl agreed to a meeting to discuss the partnership in more detail. In preparation for the meeting, I developed a business proposal outlining the projects the company needed assistance with and created a development plan for how Impresario would meet those needs. I additionally included a list of suggested services Impresario could provide that would help take Daryls non-profit organization to the next level and bring it closer to reaching its goal of enriching childrens lives.    

Since signing Daryl Battles and Camp of Champions as clients, Impresario has implemented innovative technology and knowledge management solutions to streamline Camp of Champions business operations. Were in the process of automating the entire registration process for the companys summer basketball camp. We created a customized database that allows Daryl and his staff to store and locate pertinent information about the basketball camps participants with the click of a button. The database also has the ability to sort customers by zip code and print out mailing labels, sort camp participants based on position, gender, or age, and allows the staff to create customized forms and quickly generate helpful reports. In short, the database allows Daryl and his staff to manipulate the data in almost any way they desire. We also created user friendly electronic data entry forms" that even the most technically unskilled employee can use with ease. The next phase of the project is to implement a software program that allows parents to register their children for the basketball camp directly from the companys website and process the registration fee payment online.

I am very excited about Impresario Lifestyles partnership with Daryl and Camp of Champions. Its extremely gratifying to know that Impresario has made a significant, tangible contribution to our client by streamlining their business processes, making them more efficient and productive. Next on the agenda is to help the company organize and launch a fundraising campaign to help them obtain the funds they need to expand their services and community programs.
