FORMER UCF SENIOR ASSOCIATE GOES TO PRISON
Retired Professor Lou Principe volunteers full time transforming prisoners lives.
FORMER UCF SENIOR ASSOCIATE GOES TO PRISON
Touted in a UCF press release as a ‘Sales Expert, Professor Lou Principe faces the toughest challenge of his career, selling prisoners about God at the Central Floridas Reception Center, Prison.
Waldemar Serrarn, an assistant to Governor Bush, heard Principe address the unemployed at Orlandos Expo Center during the Governors Job Fair in July. Principe spoke to the crowd boldly of loving God first, loving yourselves second, loving your families third and fourth, being able to perform random acts of kindness in the community.
He recommended Principe to the Warden at Central Florida Reception Center, Orlandos State Prison.
Since then, Principe goes to prison almost every day as a volunteer teaching about ABBA, the reason Jesus Christ was born. The results, outstanding."
Some prisoners have been motivated to thank Governor Bush, the warden and the people of Florida for permitting this program to be taught in the prison system.
Principe, before retirement, has trained thousands of people in life skills. His clients have included ATT, BellSouth, SunTrust Bank, Lennar Corporation, US Home, Marriott and has designed and presented faith based training programs for a number of Florida Universities.
There is a big void in the system. These men are someones sons; most are husbands and dads who made one mistake. It could be your son or mine. It could have been you or me. One beer, vehicular homicide -14 years. Give this to that guy over there- 4 years.
A persons mind normally has been raped in prison. Theyre not allowed to think. NO! STAND! SIT! DRESS! UNDRESS! SHOWER! EAT! THUMBS ON THE STRIPES! DONT LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! DONT WALK THAT WAY! Etc.
Then, we turn them loose on society. What do you expect they will do?
Besides teaching people how to transform themselves, Principe is finding housing, food, clothes, typing resumes and getting them jobs before they get out, thereby making our communities safer.
Principe who is 57 years old and is disabled needs volunteers who could go to prison with him or work at home typing resumes and helping bring communities closer together by setting up a network of houses of worship or organizations to support the men with friendship, love, food, shelter, clothes, jobs, etc.
I am not a church, nor do I represent any particular religion. Its taken me 57 years to realize what life is all about. If you know where you are going to go after you leave this earth life, that will motivate you to live Gods laws of Charity and Benevolence while you are here.
The Central Florida Reception Center is in need of footballs, board games, softballs, gloves, televisions, communion supplies, basketballs, religious books, Bibles, etc. All houses of worship and organizations are encouraged to participate to help make our communities safer.
Principe is available to speak to your organization and youth group for free.
God Bless
