Totalrc.net, leader in http tunneling, releases v.0.981 of socks2http
Socks2http is a lightweight SOCKS proxy tunneling TCP/UDP traffic through HTTP proxy or a firewall. Works with programs like KaZaA, ICQ, Morpheus, WinMX, AOL IM, MSN IM, Trillian, FTP, telnet, ssh, and many others. If a client program does not support SOCKS protocol Socks2http works in conjunction with a "socksifier".
Socks2HTTP is a "tunneling" application for users behind internet firewall or http proxy. It allows to use Internet programs that you normally wouldn't have access to, such as, KaZaA, ICQ, Morpheus, WinMX, AOL IM, MSN IM, Trillian, FTP, telnet, ssh, etc.
Socks2HTTP bypasses firewall restrictions by converting SOCKS requests into HTTP, and tunneling them through an HTTP proxy.
Programs that do not support SOCKS can be used in conjuction with a free "socksifier".
Totalrc.net released its first product - remote control behind firewalls at the end of 1999. Socks2http was first released in May, 2000 and allowed users behind restrictive firewalls to access Napster, Instant Messengers, and other programs.
Company also offers http tunneling software development kit for developers that want to enable their applications for firewall traversal,
personal gateway for additional privacy, as well as consulting services in internet communications.
