Amazon.com Increases Celeb Book My Fractured Life" Order 500% Due to Demand
Swelling audience demand for the hit celebrity novel My Fractured Life" has prompted Amazon.com to boost its stock 500%.
Book sales giant Amazon.com has increased its orders of the novel My Fractured Life" by actor turned author Rikki Lee Travolta 500% to meet buyer demand.
The novel is a behind the scenes look at Hollywood that is being applauded for the authors honest depiction of sexual bartering, drug use, and moral compromises that actors undergo to pursue their dreams.
Fifty percent of sales go to benefit the Rikki Lee Travolta American Hero Foundation, established following the September 11th tragedies. Travolta previous campaigned for the charities Broadway Cares, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and Even Start Literacy Campaign.
Pioneering the new literary genre 'biographical fiction, to create a world that readers can easily believe, Travolta gifted his own recognizable performing credits, friendships, and notorious gossip column appearances to the fictional main character of the book.
Not since 'Post Cards From the Edge has an author offered such a raw, unapologetic look at the seedy side of Hollywood," notes Jordana Bieze of CMP Media. Post Cards From the Edge" is a semi-autobiographical novel by Carrie Fisher of Star Wars" fame. Her book was subsequently adapted into a hit movie starring Meryl Streep and Dennis Quaid.
Reviews at Amazon.com compare Travoltas My Fractured Life" to Jim Carrolls cult classic The Basketball Diaries" which was made into a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Barnes & Nobles website offers comparisons to The 25th Hour" which has just been released as a movie adaptation helmed by director Spike Lee and starring Edward Norton.
Names that appear in Travoltas book include George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Nicholas Cage, Mr.T, Richard Grieco, Sweet Jimmy Blues, Paul Newman, and Marlon Brando. Brando and Travolta both hail from the Chicago suburb of Libertyville, Illinois.
