VIDEOTEK ANNOUNCES NEW ENHANCEMENTS TO THE POPULAR VTM-300 & VTM-400HD SERIES

Adding Customer Requested Features to Powerful Monitoring Instruments

Videotek, the industry leader in innovative test and measurement technology, is proud to announce ten new enhancements to the popular VTM-300 and VTM-400HD multi-format on screen monitors. These enhancements are a direct result of customer requests and make the VTM Series even more powerful tools for broadcast engineers.

Release of these VTM enhancements is a result of a conglomeration of customer input, Videotek is always proud to respond to product requests initiated by users, in a timely fashion."

Videotek has implemented several enhancements to the VTM series of multi-format on screen monitors. Enhancements are applied to the following models VTM-300, VTM-320, VTM-330E, VTM-400HD and VTM-420HD/SD and are available as firmware Flash updates free of charge from Videotek, Inc.

The first group of product enhancements relate to audio and include the following:

- Addition of a new "VU Plus Peak" meter ballistic.

- Increased the meter scale resolution to 1dB in full screen mode.

- Addition of a variable peak hold menu selection.

- Additional scale markings, now include –6dB and –18dB.

- Additional input reference selection of –12dBu.

- New User customizable meter label selections for SMPTE 320M mapping.

- New channel mapping feature for analog, AES and SD-SDI inputs, allows greater flexibility for interchannel phase verification.

The next group of product enhancements relate to video and include the following:

- Frame captures are now directly linked to an alarm event, therefore simplifying recovery of stored frame captures within the SpyderWebTM historical log.

- A new menu selection for Frame Capture on FIRST ALARM or LAST ALARM allows multiple alarm management.

- A new menu selection to control the font size of the On-Screen closed caption text.

These enhancements stress the importance of customers input to Videotek's product development process.
