VIDEOTEK INTRODUCES THE NEW DDM-520 and DDM-540 FREQUENCY AGILE DEMODULATOR/DECODERS

State-of-the-art, Compact, Demodulators are The Perfect Solution for Broadcasters and CATV Operators Receiving Off-air ATSC Compliant DTV Transmissions

Videotek, the proven industry leader of innovative ATSC 8VSB demodulators, is proud to introduce two new frequency agile digital demodulator/decoders, the DDM-520 and the DDM-540. Designed to provide television broadcast operators superior products, the DDM-520 and DDM-540 are an ideal fit in broadcast, cable and satellite facilities receiving terrestrial 8VSB signals.

With over 25 years of experience in developing demodulators, Videotek understands customer requirements and applications for these products." explains Greg Huttie, Videoteks Director of Product Development. The 8VSB demodulators provide the features and specifications requested by our most demanding users while satisfying their budgetary constraints. Videotek's customers, worldwide, know that we consistently deliver a quality product on-time, with a full five year warranty!"

Videotek's DDM-520 and the DDM-540 demodulators are competitively priced and, according to a recent survey, carry the lowest cost of ownership in the industry. Additionally, these 8VSB demodulators have a variety of I/O capabilities resulting in reduced system integration costs. The DDM-520 and DDM-540 can display signals at 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i, on a standard SVGA PC monitor, an alternative to expensive HD-SDI monitors. These demodulators also decode and display EIA-608 & 708 closed captions on-screen, further reducing monitoring and implementation costs.

Fundamentally, these 2RU demodulators receive, demodulate and decode 8VSB signals. The front panel has intuitively designed controls and an integrated LCD, displaying main and sub channel programs, audio format and language, data integrity information and more. The back panel of the demodulator provides over 25 connectors for use with a comprehensive list of supported input and output signals. Remote control and firmware upgrades are possible via an RS-232C serial port.

Serving the requirements of the DTV broadcast community, the DDM-520 and DDM-540 support three MPEG-2 streamed formats, SMPTE-310M, DVB-ASI, and DVB-SPI, and provide input and output connections for each. Both models also include base-band output formats of RGB (H and V sync or composite sync), YPbPr, 480i SDI, S-video, NTSC, and SVGA. The DDM-540 adds a HD-SDI output as a standard feature. Each model decodes audio to both a Dolby® Digital (AC-3) stream and analog stereo audio mix-down, for monitoring.

Located at 243 Shoemaker Road, Pottstown, PA, 19464, Videotek, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of test and measurement equipment, video demodulators, routing switchers, color correctors and processors and related equipment for the professional video and television broadcast markets.
